Adult Classes

Wheel Throwing [Intermediate & Advanced]

This class is designed for the student who has completed Wheel throwing I & II (or equivalent), and wants to learn more advanced skills. Topics covered will include jars and lids, collared forms, spouts and pouring vessels, and learning to develop your own voice in clay. Students will have the opportunity to make work to be fired in Floyd’s Fork Pottery gas reduction kiln, or other atmospheric firings.

Wheel Throwing I & II

Floyds Fork Pottery – Wheel Throwing – Whether you are a total beginner or have some experience working on the potter’s wheel, this class is for you!

Beginners will focus on the fundamentals: centering, throwing bowls and cylinders, pulling handles and simple trimming and glazing.

More advanced students will learn techniques to push the clay further than they have before. This class is the perfect opportunity for students of all levels to learn in a fun, creative atmosphere.

Hand Building

Students in this class will learn how to use clay slabs, coils, texture and surface techniques to create pottery, tiles or sculpture. Clay can be used to make almost anything, so come equipped with your ideas!

Family Classes

Children and Family

There is nothing more fun than getting messy and making things out of clay! In this ongoing class, children will have the opportunity to learn all kinds of clay building skills, including throwing on the potter’s wheel. Each week will be a new adventure as we sculpt, coil and paint. Students will be encouraged to work at their own level and complete projects that explore their creativity.
